The METU Industrial Engineering Department, the first of its kind in Turkey since 1969, currently employs a full time teaching faculty of 20. There are about 500 undergraduate and 150 graduate students enrolled in our regular programs. An MS program in Engineering Management is also offered to graduates of other departments and has an additional 150 students.

In addition to their research, the IE faculty has also been active in sponsored research projects conducted for the industry and the government. Based on this experience, the Department is well placed to offer education over a wide range, to take part in joint research projects and engage in all types of national and international academic work.

 In addition to disciplinary content, the Department also encourages students to attain expertise in the use of modern information technologies and take part in professional and extracurricular activities. As a result, our students are able to stand out in many international contests and activities.

The Department supports national and international scientific events and has hosted several conferences and workshops. With such a record, we continue to enjoy the interest of the best students and the best talent that this country offers.
